Sebastian Edmund Shead is an Oil painter from North Yorkshire, England, and is based in London. Obtaining a BA Fine Art at Bath Spa University (2021-2024). The time spent on the degree was dedicated to learning the methods and materials of the old masters. And using those methods to create thoughtful and melancholic paintings. Inspired by past past painters such as Rembrandt and Titian.

Upon completing his degree, Sebastian was given 2 year tuition at Heatherley's School of Fine Art (Chelsea Harbour). Heatherley's school first opened its doors to students in 1845. Painters such as Rossetti, Burne-Jones and Lord Friedrich Leighton attended. Unlike many art school in the western world. Heatherley's is focused on observation painting and drawing directly from the model. Sebastian believes that painting from life is a fundamental part of his practice as a painter.
